He was born Monday, July 6, 1931, in Monticello, Kentucky, the son of Samuel and Eva (Mason) Bell. Lowell moved to the Muncie area at an early age and worked at Ball Brothers. He owned and operated Bells Auto Sales and was known as a good and honest car dealer. Lowell was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed rebuilding cars. He was especially proud of his '56 Ford. Lowell was a member of the Masonic Lodge and he enjoyed boating, camping, and skiing with his family. He was musically very talented and played the guitar in the Five Grand Band.
Survivors include his children, Margaret Ann (husband, Tim) Green, Leslie Paul (fiancé, Missy), and Jeffrey Lynn Bell; grandchildren, Mandi (husband, J.T.) Deweese, Laura White, Jaime (husband, Keith) Johnson, Tim (wife, Kim) Green, Malissa Green, Jeffrey (wife, Jayne) Bell II, Preston Bell, and Cody Bell; great- grandchildren, Jackson Deweese, Quinlan Deweese, Brianna Turner, Trent Wilson, Baylee Johnson, Mekayla Johnson, and Konner Johnson; and three great-great- grandchildren.
His father, Samuel Bell; his mother, Eva Brumley; his wife, Irene (Williams) Bell; his seven brothers and sisters, Woodrow Bell, Wendell Bell, Odel Bell, Wilma Cherry, Flonnie Bell, Gladys Lewellen, and an infant sister preceded him in death.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 9, 2023, at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304. Burial will follow in Elm Ridge Memorial Park.
Family and friends may call from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Friday at Elm Ridge Funeral Home.
