She was born on May 12, 1942, the daughter of Edith (DeWees) Worley Turner. Her stepfather Ronald Turner became an important part of her life at a young age. She graduated from Gaston High School in 1960 alongside her high school sweetheart and future husband, David Lee Fallis. David and Karlene were married on May 20, 1962.
Karlene briefly worked at Borg Warner before beginning her true passion, becoming a stay at home mother. Her greatest joy was maintaining a happy home where her family always knew the day would end with a made from scratch meal around the table.
Karlene lived her life as a shining example of valuing the importance of time spent together over material possessions. Through the years she cherished summers at Lake Tippecanoe, her weekly bowling league, evenings with friends at the Eagles, trips with David to the casino and holidays with her family.
Karlene is survived by her devoted husband of 62 years David Fallis. She was the loving mother of Jeff Fallis (Beth) and Julie Schrank (Bob). She was the very best Mamaw to four grandchildren: Meghan Fallis-Ramsey (Nick), Brittany Perez, Kelsey Gangnon (John) and Kyle Schrank. She had four great grandchildren: Zeke and Manny Perez, Crosby Ramsey and Max Gangnon.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Robert Worley.
Karlene's family would like to thank the Intensive Care Unit staff at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital for the care and compassion provided to Karlene.
