James Larry Griffith

James Larry Griffith, 83, of Muncie, died Thursday, December 17, 2020, at Bethel Pointe in Muncie. He was born in Parker City on Friday, August 27, 1937, to John and Bess (Ison) Griffith. He graduated from Muncie Central High School.

James worked for Durham Manufacturing as a line worker and then as a fork truck driver for many years. He then worked in Security at Westinghouse. James was easy going and loved fishing, cars and Big Band music. He will be deeply missed.

James is survived by his children; Gary (wife, Judy) Griffith, Jennifer (husband, Troy) Knight, and Debra (husband, Kenneth) Gorman; grandchildren, Sean (wife, Sara) Gorman, Kate (husband, Rob) Sweasey, Kellen (Brett Albert) Gorman, Amber Griffith, Jacob (wife, Morgan) Griffith, Carlee Griffith, Trey (wife, Portia) Knight, and Travis (wife, Kathryn) Knight; great-grandchildren, Samuel Gorman, William Gorman, Marah Sweasey, Rozlynne Griffith, Jaylee Knight, and Ezekiel Knight.

James is preceded in death by: his parents, John and Bess Griffith; four brothers, Bob, Carl, Ralph, and Richard; and one sister, Doris.

A private Celebration of Life will be at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304.

Due to the COVID19 PANDEMIC, a mask is required at services and visitation. To be safe remember to adhere to the six foot social distancing.
