Jack was born Saturday, January 19, 1935, in Elwood, Indiana, to Frank and Theresa Newkirk. He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Patty (Melton) Newkirk on April 11, 1959, and they shared sixty-one years together before she passed away.
Jack was a member of the Moose Lodge, Elk Lodge, and Masonic Lodge. He was an avid NASCAR, Indy Car, and football fan. Jack served in the Army in Germany during the Korean conflict. He loved spending time at his cottage on the Tippy River. He worked as a production supervisor at ABB in Muncie until his retirement in 1997.
Jack is survived by his brother, Terry Newkirk and family; children, David (Colleen) Newkirk, Bret Newkirk (Richard Leach), Debra Stewart, and Tony Newkirk; grandchildren, Wesley (Marissa) Newkirk, Taryn Stewart, and Luke Denbow.
He was preceded in passing by his wife, Patty Lou Newkirk; parents; sister-in-law, Mary Francis Newkirk.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, December 30, 2022, at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304. Burial will follow at Elm Ridge Memorial Park.
