Harry Michael Owens

Harry M. Owens, 74, of Gaston, passed away on March 21, 2025, with family members at his bedside, at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie. He was born on October 27, 1950, in Muncie, to Harry and Martha Frances (Brewsaugh) Owens. On April 8, 1972, Harry married Connie J. Pugsley at Yorktown Christian Church, and she survives.

Harry graduated from Yorktown High School in 1969, where he played football and wrestled. After high school, he went on to get his welding certification. Harry worked diligently at Borg Warner for 39 years before retiring. He enjoyed shooting and fixing guns. Harry also loved to ride motorcycles and owned many throughout his life. He enjoyed roller skating, as it was a weekly event, and loved to take his family. Harry was a wonderfully loving husband, dad, grandpa, son, and brother.

Harry is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Connie; daughter, Holly Jessee; grandsons, Logan (Sam) Jessee and Jordan Jessee; sisters, Sue (Rufus) Slaughter and Carol Pickron; close friend of the family, Kevin Heath; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, James Robert “Bob” Owens.

A funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 W. Kilgore Ave., Muncie, IN 47304. Burial will take place in Elm Ridge Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family from 11 am until the time of the service on Thursday, at the funeral home.
