Eleanor Faulkner, 81,Yorktown, died in the home where she lived for 74 years. Born December 5, 1934, she was the twelfth child of Ora and Sydney Crawley. She graduated Yorktown High School in 1953 and attended Ball State University and Boise State.
Eleanor loved and cared for animals all of her life and many will know her for Falcroft School for Dogs, where she cared for and trained dogs. In her teens, she and her mother introduced the boxer breed to the Midwest and then in the mid 1960's she was one of the first in the area to breed Bouvier des Flandres. Her love of animals lead her to be one of the founders for Action for Animals.
She is preceded in death by her siblings Reba, Lucile, Frances, Sidney, Edna, Herschel, Jack, Monzelle, Catherine and Richard.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Jim Faulkner, a prominent Indiana painter, sister Gertrude Coble (Jacksonville, FL), numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews.
A celebration of her life will be held in the spring.
