Doyne Hahn

He was born Wednesday, April 9, 1941, in Hammond, Indiana, the son of Marcus and Frieda (Drewes) Hahn. Doyne enjoyed working in his gardens and was a Master Gardener. He also enjoyed cooking and did cooking demonstrations with John Drumm at the Muncie Public Libraries. He was a librarian and had worked at Ball State University and the Marian Hunt Library. After retirement, he was an adjunct History professor at Ivy Tech where he also took notes for disabled students. He was an avid reader and was a member of several librarian and historian associations. His memberships include the St. Lawrence Catholic Church where he served on the Archives Committee. He was a Third Order Secular Franciscan and was a former Athletic Director at St. Mary Catholic School.

Survivors include his wife, Cathy (Williams) Hahn; son, Timothy (wife, Connie) Hahn; daughter, Bridget (husband, Joshua) Cole; sister, Patricia Kardos; and several cousins.

His parents, Marcus and Frieda Hahn, and his mother-in-law, Ruth Williams, preceded him in death.

Family and friends may call from 3:00 until 6:00 p.m. Sunday, September 17, 2023, at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 18, 2023, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 820 East Charles Street, Muncie, Indiana 47305 with Father Christian DeCarlo officiating. Burial will follow in Elm Ridge Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions in memory of Doyne may be made to St. Michael Catholic School, 2301 West Gilbert Street, Muncie, Indiana 47303.
