She was born in Yorktown, Indiana on December 5, 1932, the daughter of Guy and Gladys (Yingling) Hyde. Dorothy was a stay at home mom while her children were young. Later, she worked for Marsh and Twoson Tool in Muncie before retiring to become full-time caregiver for her nephew. She was a dedicated member of Riverview Church of the Nazarene.
Dorothy is survived by her son, Jeff (Donna) Long; daughter-in-law, Randie Long; nephew, Ricky L. Mercer; four grandchildren, Tiffany (Nick) Marquell, Scott Long, Brent Long, and Ron (Kelly) Duncan; eight great-grandchildren, Rachel, Robert, Rebecca, Logan, Jared, Sam, Ashley, Lindsey; and several nieces and nephews.
Dorothy is preceded in passing by her husband, Robert Long; parents; son, Steven Long; and two sisters, Helen (Dewey) Mercer and Donna (Clinton) Hendershot.
