She was born Monday, September 10, 1934, in Muncie, the daughter of Lawrence and Marjorie (Strahan) Geise. She graduated from Muncie Central High School. Carolyn worked various jobs throughout her lifetime. The biggest of her accomplishments while working was becoming the third lady foreman at Delco Remy in her plant.
Her four boys were the absolute pride and joy of her life. She always believed in them and they believed in her. Carolyn loved to read, always stayed current with the news and politics. She loved to decorate her home. Carolyn really enjoyed flower gardening and showing off her yard. She enjoyed antiquing and refurbishing them. Carolyn was wild about traveling and especially enjoyed her trip to Europe. She had a big heart for cats and loved watching birds in her feeder. Carolyn had a kind heart and a sensitivity towards those in need.
Survivors include her sons, Michael (wife, Lori) Brown, Dwight (significant other, Rozenia) Brown, and Bill (wife, Regina) Brown; brother, Larry Geise; grandchildren, Brooke (husband, Jon) Phillips, Brandon (wife, Jamie) Brown, Benjamin Brown, Andrea (husband, Doug) Hoover, Alicia Sims, Adam (wife, Tia) Brown, Jessica Brown, Craig Brown, Matthew (wife, Robyn) Brown, and Lauren Brown; several great-grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Marjorie Geise; son, Tom Brown; brother, Jack Geise; sisters, Kay Rhoades, and Barbara Reason; and a sister-in-law, Linda Geise.
Family and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Thursday, April 18, 2024 at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304.
Private services will be held at Elm Ridge Funeral Home with Pastor Rusty Clements officiating. Burial will be at Elm Ridge Memorial Park.
