John Bernosky, 89, of Mount Morris, PA passed away at 10:15 PM, Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at home. He was born June 12, 1934 in Osage, WV, a son of the late John Mozelevky and Alexandria Kiebye Mozelevky. He was a member of the James T. Maxon American Legion Post #992 of Mt. Morris, PA. John honorably served as a veteran of the US Air Force. After getting out of the Air Force, John started working at American Airlines as a jet mechanic. While working there, he met the love of his life Marilyn Pfautsch, whom he married in 1962 in Missouri. After leaving Missouri, they lived in Alaska for a time and then moved back to Mount Morris to raise a family. He worked as a coal miner for Emerald Mine for 32 years. While there at Emerald, he developed 2 patents to improve productivity at the mine. This is when he started his own business making products for the mines for 30 years. He loved working in his shop with his family run business, employing his children and grandchildren over the years. He made products for various coal mines. He loved woodworking and planting several different types of trees. Walnut trees were definitely one of his favorites. Mr. Bernosky loved his canadian geese too. John loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was always trying to make things better for his family. His Wife Marilyn Pfautsch Bernosky survives. Also surviving are 2 Daughters: Helen and husband Tim Snyder of Mt. Morris, PA, and Claire Campbell of Georgia. 2 Sons: John and wife Christine Bernosky of Mt. Morris, PA, Daniel and wife Beth Bernosky of Mt. Morris, PA, 4 Grandchildren: Codie Snyder, Jeremiah Snyder, John S. Bernosky and Janelle Bernosky, 7 Great-Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are 1 Daughter: Mari Bernosky, 1 Grandson: Lance Corporal Joshua Snyder, 2 Sisters: Helen and Ida and 2 Brothers: Walter and Charlie There will be visitation from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, April 12, 2024 in the Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home, Inc. 324 Mount Morris Rd., P.O. Box 478 Mount Morris, PA 15349 Shane M. Ayers, Director where services will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 10:00 AM with burial to follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens, Morgantown, WV Graveside Military rites to be accorded by the James T.
