Mrs. Ellen Hull of Moulton passed away on Thursday, October 28, 2010 at the age of 94. She was born to Fritz and Mary (Kaiser) Fisbeck on October 21, 1916 in the Baursville community near Moulton. While still a child, her family relocated to the Peach Creek area where she attended Cedar Springs School. She was married to Jacob Govan Hull on March 27, 1940.
Ellen’s life was filled with caring for her husband and children as well as grrdening, canning and chores necessary to the family’s livelihood. She was also an employee of the Shady Oak Nursing Home as a nurse’s assistant. She was very active as a life-long member of the Zion Lutheran Church, being past president of their Ladies Aid organization, and also enjoyed membership in the local Hobby Club for many years.
After the death of her husband Jake in 1991, Ellen became a Volunteer for Hospice of South Texas where she was named Outstanding Volunteer in 1997. She was also an emergency care attendant with Moulton’s Volunteer Emergency Medical Service.
In addition to being preceded n death by her parents and husband,
Ellen was predeceased by brothers Gus, Otto, Hugo and Victor Fisbeck; and sisters Minnie Mueller, Alma Halliburton and Marianne Schendel.
Left to Mourn her absence are children, Jacob Cordell Hull of Austin Dr. Henry Hull and wife Linda of New Braunfels, and Marsha Machacek and husband Jimmy of Yoakum. Frandchildren include Randall Hull (friend Sandy Nguyen) of Austin; Mrs. Kimberly Perry (husband Mark) also of Austin; Ashley Van Hull (wife Rebecca) of Madisonville; Mrs. Kristi Stanley (husband Randy) of Seguin; Amber Machacek of Victoria and April Machacek of Yoakum. Great-grandchildren are Kara Stanley, Kena Stanley and Jacob Arthur Hull.
Ellen is also survived by her brother, Alton Fisbeck; two sisters – in – law, Mrs. Kate Fisbeck Higgins and Mrs. Minnie Fisbeck, all of Moulton; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services were held Monday, November 1, 2010 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Moulton with Rev. J.R. Westerfield officiating. Burial followed in the Moulton City Cemetery. Smith Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Pallbearers were Randall Hull, Mark Perry, Ashley Van Hull, Randy Stanley, Carlotta Fairchild, and Frances Fisbeck.
Honary pallbearers were Ellen’s granddaughters, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
If desired, memorials in Ellen’s memory may be made to Moulton Zion Lutheran Church Building Fund of Accolade Hospice of Yoakum.
Ellen enjoyed living in the comfort of her own home until the spring of this year. Her family takes great comfort and offers a heartfeld gratitude to Stevens Healthcare and Rehab Center, and Accolade Hospice, both of Yoakum, for the caring and comfort given to her these last few months.
