Thelma "MawMaw" Jean Cuvillier Reeves, 87, passed away on February 01, 2023 at her home in Topsy, LA, surrounded by her family. She was born March 16, 1935 to Homer Cuvillier and Ida Duhon Cuvillier from Lake Arthur, LA.
Thelma was a loving woman of faith that loved gardening, garage sales, perch fishing, crabbing, the beach, babies and spending time with her family. She was a selfless homemaker to her husband and children. She has raised many others besides her own. She was an avid storyteller and she got great joy in watching people's reactions to them. If you knew her, you experienced unconditional love and her cajun cooking.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ovie Ray Reeves Sr.; her parents, Homer and Ida Cuvillier; son, Dale Fruge; sister, Elsie Landry; brother, Homer Cuvillier; grandchildren, Sarah Spears, Johnette Fruge, Aaron Fruge, Homer Reeves; and one great grandchild, Michael Shelton.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Mary "Liz" Reeves of Ragley, LA, Jan Willis and spouse Joe of Moss Bluff, LA, Robert Reeves and partner Leah Cain, Ovie "Kitchie" Reeves and partner Candy Jeter of Topsy, LA, Patty Reeves of Kinder; and her sister Ida Mae Doyle of Lake Arthur, LA. She has 21 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, and 7 great great grandchildren.
Visitation for Thelma will be held at Hixson Funeral home in Moss Bluff, LA on Saturday, February 4, 2023 from 4pm until 9pm.
Visitation will resume Sunday,February 5, 2023 at Hixson Funeral home in Moss Bluff, LA at 10:00am until the time of service at 2pm. Burial will immediately follow services at Creel Cemetery at 1132 Camp Pearl Rd, Reeves, LA. Reverend Jon Hair will officiate services.
Active pallbearers will be Devin "Snudge", Zack, Chris, Dylan, Gavin, Christian, Ryan and DJ.
Honorary pallbearers will be Hunter, Max, and Jack-Jack.
