Robert "Big Shot" Perkins passed away peacefully from this earth on Friday, June 14, 2024 at the age of 89. He was born to Alvin and Thelma (Toney) Perkins on November 11, 1934 in Oakdale, Louisiana. The family relocated to Lake Charles when he was just a young child and he grew up to love the outdoors, most especially raking leaves. He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings Alvin "Sonny" Perkins Jr., Velma "Red" Holley, and Billy Earl "Will" Perkins. He is survived by his nephew and caregivers, Larry and Connie Perkins of Moss Bluff; his great-great nephew and namesake, Robert N. Perkins of The Woodlands, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews: Sara Whitaker, Bridget Manuel, Susie Spellman, Lulu Perkins, Gary Grillette and Glen Holley. He was loved and cherished for nearly 90 years on this earth, and we are comforted knowing he is forever reunited with his parents and siblings in Heaven. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. until time of service on Monday, June 17, 2024 at Hixson Funeral Home in Moss Bluff. Funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 17,2024 in the Chapel at Hixson Funeral Home in Moss Bluff.
