Bobby was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana on July 2, 1942 to James Cox and Audrey Forbis Cox. He was a longtime resident of Moss Bluff, LA and graduated from Gillis High School. He worked as a butcher at Sonny’s grocery store in Moss Bluff, was a route delivery man for Frito Lay, worked for Anchor Weight and had a long career and retired from Schlumberger Oilfield Services. His career with Schlumberger led him to move to Deer Park, Texas in 1982.
Bobby was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Linda Lofton Cox; his son, Gregory Neill Cox; his brother, Jack Cox; his sister-in-law, Mae Cox, and his parents.
He is survived by his daughter, Roxanne Davis and husband Bill of La Porte, TX; daughter-in-law Lorelei Cox of Moss Bluff, brother Billy Cox of Marrero, La.; sister Peggy Partham and husband Larry of Lumberton, TX; sister Patsey Goff and husband Wayne of Silsbee, TX.
He was lovingly known as Paw to grandchildren Jenna Mistric and husband Jacques; Clint Cox and wife Lacie; Grant Cox and Wife Kayla; Ciara Lee and husband Cody; Devin Davis and wife Tabby. He was also a blessing to 10 great grandchildren: Joleigh Mistric, William Cox, John Cox, Jackson Cox, Jhett Mistric, Landon Lee, Aubriella Davis, Jude Cox, Lilly Cox and Morgan Lee.
The family will welcome the public for visitation at Hixson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff Thursday, November 9, 2023 from 9am until 1pm. A celebration of life service led by Hixson celebrant Jody Barrilleaux will begin at 1pm. Interment will follow at Old Ritchie Cemetery.
