She was a 1972 graduate of Kinder High School and a 1976 graduate of McNeese State University, where she received her Bachelor's Degree. Myra worked for Louisiana Pigment as a Lab Analyst for 23 years. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, being a part of the Bridge Club, and watching all sports (especially LSU and McNeese). Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandson, whom she loved so much and loved to spoil beyond belief.
She is survived by her long time boyfriend of 15 years, Jack Deason; two sons, Brian Butler (Amy) of Moss Bluff, LA, Steven Butler, of Sulphur, LA; brother, James Fontenot (Cheryl) of Welsh; sister, Sharon Shepherd (Johnny) of Deweyville, TX; her beloved grandson, Blake Butler of Moss Bluff; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Myra is preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Bruce Fontenot.
A Celebration of Myra's life will be held at Hixson Funeral Home in Moss Bluff, LA. on Friday, June 24, 2022 at 10:00 am with Deacon Patrick LaPoint officiating. Visitation will be at Hixson Funeral Home in Moss Bluff on Thursday, June 23, 2022, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Friday, from 8:00 am until the time of the service.
