After graduating from Redemptorist High School in 1962, Leo enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he served from 1962-1968, serving two years active duty and four years in the reserves. He was stationed in France and Germany.
Upon completion of his service in the army, Leo made his home in Louisiana. He was a pipefitter in many of the plants in South Louisiana. He coached BREC little league football for more than ten years in the Baker area impacting hundreds of young lives. Leo loved bass fishing, hunting, golfing, and LSU football and just about everything his beloved home state of Louisiana had to offer. Leo moved to Moss Bluff in 1999, where he attended Moss Bluff Pentecostal Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Larry Bickford.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 24 years Lynda Bickford; sons, Lonnie Bickford (Jacci) and Troy Bickford (Doug Adams); stepsons, Paul Henagan (Chenell) and David Henagan (Rochelle); stepdaughter Aimee Hill (Jonathan); and grandchildren, Bira Henagan, Tristan Henagan, Zoe Henagan, Kaitlyn, Natalie, Corbin Hill, and many friends.
The family will welcome the public for visitation Saturday, July 22, 2023 from 12 pm until time of funeral service at 2 pm at Moss Bluff Pentecostal Church. Interment will follow at LeBleu Cemetery, Fenton, LA.
