The world is a dimmer place today, God needed to bring a ray of sunshine home on June 12, 2021.
The rays name was Laney. Laney brought joy to all around her with that infectious smile and sweet laugh that brightened the dimmest of days, her strength and character shined on all around. She was her happiest when she was hunting and fishing with dad or shopping with mom. Laney became a women and fell in love with a soldier named Sam Smith, then shortly after tied them together in matrimony. Months later Laney had that glow, a baby was coming and name was “Ella Marie”, she joined the world on June 7, 2021. A new ray of sunshine the Lord had sent.
Laney lived life through God’s Eyes, she saw no bad in anyone. She always brought the best out in anyone around. She was a diamond in an evening gown and a full blown country girl in camo, slinging mud in dads side by side.
If you come to Celebrate her life you know this is her story, when you see the sunshine, know its her and smile. That’s our girl.
Laney leaves behind to cherish her memories, husband, Samuel Smith and daughter, Ella Marie of Fort Polk, LA; father and mother, Darrell “Toot” and Susan Reeves of Topsy; grandmother, Betty Reeves of Topsy; grandparents Earl and Sue Istre of Jennings and grandfather, Sam Pocorello of St. Francisville, LA; sisters, Suzzane Smith of Jennings, LA and Coree Perkins of Lake Charles and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
