John Robert Meek Sr.

John Robert Meek Sr. 79, passed away Friday, October 23, 2020 at his home surrounded by family. John was born March 27, 1941 to parents Maurice and Mable Meek. John was a lifelong resident of Westlake, LA, and attended Westlake High School, later serving in the U.S. Navy on board the U.S.S. McDermut. John retired from Olin Chemical as a supervisor in 1996, after over 30 years of service. Later retiring from ACME as a Hotshot Driver after 10 years of service. John was a member of the American Legion # 370, and was a member of the Contraband Car Club. He enjoyed old cars, his family and was loved by all.

Those left to cherish his memories are his three sons; John Robert Meek Jr. and wife Linda of Westlake, LA, Richard Meek and wife Lisa of Centraila, Washington, and Joey Meek of Moss Bluff, LA. Also his Children Jennifer, Julie and Joe Morrison, and one brother Donald Meek of Westlake, LA. John also leaves 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his companion of 20 years, Joyce Stout, grandson Brandon Roden, brother Maurice Meek Jr., sister Hazel Roush and his daughter-in-law Amanda Meek.

The family will welcome the public for visitation on Thursday, October 29, 2020 at Hixson Funeral Home in Moss Bluff Beginning at 3pm to 9pm. Visitation will resume October 30, 2020 at 8am until service at 10am, followed by burial at Westlake Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Christus St. Patrick's Hospice, and his Grandson Robert Meek.
