She was born July 30, 1951 Lake Charles, LA and grew up in Moss Bluff, LA. She was known to her grandchildren as “MeMaw”. She was a graduate of Sam Houston High School, Class of 1970. She was a member of New Life Worship Center.
In her younger years she worked at Frosty Inn, Plantation House Restaurant, Howard Johnson’s, Paw Paw’s Seafood Restaurant, Bealls Department Store. She was a stay at home mom and sold Avon. She was a Sunday school teacher, Missionette Leader, Women’s Ministry Leader, Youth Leader with her husband and helped in prison ministry. When she and her husband went into the ministry, they were interim pastors in S. Texas and SW Louisiana. In 1990 they took a pastor position in Brouillette, LA. During the time they lived in Brouillette, she was overseer of a Food Bank distribution at the church and loved helping the community. Glenda was always helping someone and never met a stranger. Her love for the Lord was infectious and she would share how He changed her life to anyone that would give her a few minutes. Her love for people was second to none; it made no difference to her if you were rich or poor. Glenda worked as a paraprofessional for Calcasieu Parish School Board at Moss Bluff Middle & Sam Houston High School. She was a former employee at Miss Marilyn’s Kids & J.A.M. Learning Center in Westlake.
She loved to do hair, shop, sew, bake, word search puzzles, art & crafts, fund-raise, read, paint ceramics, plan parties & trips, travel and playing games. Her favorite TV channel was the Hallmark channel. But most of all she loved spending time with her husband, daughters and rowdy grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde “Pete” and Marie Gill; 2 brothers, Danny and Lyn Gill; Grandparents, Howard & Ruth Reeves and James & Estelle Gill.
Those left to cherish her memory are her best friend & husband of 49 years, Rev. Danny Moore of Moss Bluff, LA; 3 daughters, Rev. Melissa (John) Pousson of Tomball, TX, Jennifer (Cleo) Callais of Montegut, LA, and Julie (Charlie) Thibodeaux of Moss Bluff, LA; 8 Grandchildren, Kegan (Crystal), Katlyn (Companion Courtney), and Kelsey Pousson, Amanda (Dylan) Billiot, Trevor (fiancée, Sydney) and Jacob (fiancée, Dana) Walker, Ethan (Diana) and Kade (Companion, Jaitlyn) Adams; 7 Great-Grandchildren, Nayeli, Joseph, and Mia Adams, Bryson Billiot, Micah Walker, Reyna Vincent, and Kingstyn Pousson; 2 brothers, Jimmy (Mary) Gill and Russell (Tammy) Gill both of Moss Bluff; 2 Godchildren, Sabrina Gill and Renee Bailey; 5 foreign exchange grandchildren, Ben, Kento, Nessrine, Joni, and Pei-Lin; and numerous family members.
Visitation will be Sunday, Sept. 15, 2019 from 4-9p.m. with a life celebration at 7p.m. Rev. Melissa Pousson will officiate and will resume Monday 8a.m. until service at the funeral home.
