George Guidry, 89, of Ragley, passed away on Saturday, February 19, 2022 peacefully in his home with his beloved wife, Jean, and family at his side. He was born to his late parents, Core and Ulalie Guidry on February 10, 1933 in Kaplan, LA.
George was an usher and member of the Knights of Columbus at St. Theodore Catholic Church. He was also a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. Pop was known for his great ability to bog down any truck, tractor, or lawnmower; most of the time requiring assistance. His days were best spent enjoying his front porch and visiting with his old buddies and family. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were his pride and joy.
He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Jerry "Jean" Guidry; sons, Michael Guidry of Denham Springs, LA, Ed Guidry (Monica) of Ragley; seven grandchildren; along with twelve great grandchildren.
George is preceded in death by his daughter, Pauline Burnett; eleven siblings; along with his trusted sidekick, Peanut.
Services will be held at St. Pius X Catholic Church on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at 10:00am with Father Jeffrey Starkovich officiating. Visitation will be at Hixson Funeral Home in Moss Bluff on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, from 5:00pm until 8:00pm, with a Rosary at 6:00pm. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 8:00am until the procession to the church. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens.
