Mary A. Luedke was born in Minot, North Dakota on April 1918 and passed away July 10, 2012. Mary moved West as a child and grew up in the Kelso-Longview area. She married Henry Lincoln Sethre and had two children Gary and Barbara. Upon his unexpected death, she, with her two children, moved from California back to Kelso Longview. She later married Lloyd “Mac” McCarty and had Patricia. They lived in Rose Valley on a small farm. Mary worked at the Longview School District for some 23 years, retiring in 1978. That same year, Mary and Mac moved to Packwood full time. In her retirement years, you could often find Mary on the High Valley golf course smiling and waving to all. As she said, “she loved people, loved to laugh, and loved to have fun”. A celebration of Mary’s life will be held Sunday July 15 at High Valley Country Club in Packwood, Washington.
