Mary L. Irwin, 73, of Mossyrock, left this earth on Tuesday, June 21, 2016. Mary was born on February 2, 1943, in Childress, Texas, to Cotton Russell and Freddie L. VanScoder. She will be greatly missed.
Mary was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She was a great cook; known to her customers as ‘Skinny Mary.’ She loved going for rides in the mountains and putting together jigsaw puzzles, but her favorite thing to do was creating arts and crafts- she made some beautiful things.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Cotton and Freddie; one sister, Ruby Rogers; and one daughter, Candy Cain.
She is survived by daughters, Julie (Tim) White of Mossyrock, and Linda Hanson of Federal Way; sons, Scott Hanson of Mossyrock, and Charlie (Connie) Hanson of Coos Bay, Oregon; grandchildren, Jess and Jared White, Tabitha and Katrina Hanson, Jay and Jarrett Puumala, Jennie and Angie Pollock, and Patrick, Candice, and Marcy Core.
She is also survived by her brothers, Richard and Dennis Dollar; and sisters, Becky Adney, Sandy Shafer, and Johnnie Bowden; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service to honor Mary’s life will be held on Saturday, July 23rd, 2016 at 11:00 AM, at the Packwood- Evergreen Cemetery on Cannon Road in Packwood. A potluck reception will follow in Mossyrock. Arrangements are under the care of Brown Mortuary Service in Morton.
