Hubert ‘Hub’ James Callahan, 91, of Randle, Wash., died at his home on Tuesday, June 25, 2019. He was born in Randle on July 31, 1927, to Thomas and Bridget (Gillooly) Callahan. He lived his entire life in Lewis County.
Hub spent much of his life working in the logging industry as a bulldozer operator, but his passion was his farm. He spent much time there raising his cattle, taking care of his fields, and spending many hours on his tractor.
Hub is survived by his wife of 65 years, Alice; children, Michael J. (Kukui) Callahan, Ann (William) Callahan- Woodham, and Nancy (John) Landeis; 6 grandchildren, Jessica Callahan, Jared Callahan, Aaron Woodham, Brent Woodham, Bridget Wallace, and Jacob Landeis; 7 great grandchildren, Lillian, Landon, Joleen,Olivia, Maxine, Maverick, and Jaxon; and many other extended family members.
The funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, July 6, 2019, at Brown Mortuary Service in Morton, Wash. A brief graveside service will follow the funeral service, also on July 6, at Silver Creek Cemetery, 687 Silverbrook Rd in Randle. Hub’s family invites all whose lives he touched to share memories at a potluck reception to be held after burial at the Randle United Methodist Church, 116 Kindle Rd.
