William "Bill" Edward Hixson

William E. “Bill” Hixson, age 82, of Newport, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 27, 2019 at Regency Retirement Village in Morristown. He served in the Army National Guard and retired from Mahle. He was an avid fly fisherman and hunter. Preceding him in death were his parents, Ed and Ruth Ellis Hixson; and several aunts and uncles.

Survivors include his daughters, Donna (Tim) Davis and Kim Hixson; grandchildren, Bubba (Erin) White, Nicole White, Mimi (Michael) Gunter, Timmer White, Lynne (Justin) Davis-Carter; great-grandchildren, Nevaeh Ramsey, Madaya White, Xavian Lane, Justus White, Tylea Doss, Taylen White, Maxton White, Torrie White, August White; brother, Richard (Shirley) Hixson; nieces, Gloria (Eric) Fowler, Shirley Trent; other nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 from 1:00-2:00 pm in the mausoleum at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Graveside service will follow at 2:00 pm with Pastor Rick Clevenger officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Veterans charity of your choice.
