Wanda Jane Fawbush Carter, age 78, of Morristown, went to be with Jesus on Thursday, November 27, 2014, surrounded by her loving family. She was a longtime member of Shady Grove Free Will Baptist Church in Whitesburg. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Carter; son, Ricky Cox; parents, Otis “Speck” and Mary Beck Fawbush; brothers, Jack, Don and Randy Fawbush; nephews, Chris and Craig Fawbush; special sister-in-law, Bobbie Hilton; and grandparents, James and Flora Hunley Fawbush and Gale and Amanda Parsons Beck. She is survived by her daughter, Vicky (Terry) Harmer of Knoxville; sons, Gary (Donna) Cox and Steve Cox; grandchildren, Joshua (Lindsey) Williams, Luke (Julianne) Williams, David (Jennifer) Williams, Erin Cox, Daniel Cox, Laura Cox; great-grandchildren, Westin, Taylor and Wyatt Williams, Luke and Loreilie Williams; special sisters-in-law, Beulah Fawbush and Norma Fawbush; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Stubblefield Funeral Home. Rev David Williams, Rev. Donnie Myers and Daniel Cox will officiate. Singers will be the Shady Grove Trio. Interment will follow in Creech’s Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joshua, Luke, David Williams, Daniel Cox, Michael Fawbush, and Terry Harmer. The family will receive friends from 12 – 2:00 p.m. Saturday prior to the services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Freewill Baptist Childrens Home in Greeneville, TN or Freewill Baptist College Scholarship Fund in Nashville, TN. Stubblefield Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
