

Russell O. Moore, age 79 of Whitesburg, passed away Friday, December 19th 2014 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport. Russell retired from American Enka and was a farmer and a beef producer. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was a member of the Kyle Lodge # 422 F&AM , North American Limousin Association, American Angus Association and a member of the Hamblen County Farm Bureau. Preceded in death by his wife, Mary Skelton Moore; parents, Guy and Odell Moore; and brother, Guy Moore, Sr.
Survivors include son, David (Nina) Moore of Rusellville; daughter, LeAnn Moore Light (Shawn) of Rogersville; grandchildren, Daniel Moore, Joe Moore and Jay Moore; step-grandchildren, Ashlynn and Braxton Light; great grandson, Jayken Moore; sister in laws, Loraine Rosenbalm and Jane Skelton; brother in law, H.B. (Ann) Skelton; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Masonic service will be held in the Chapel of Stubblefield Funeral Home at 8 p.m. on Monday, December 22nd, 2014 with Kyle Lodge # 422 F&AM. Family and friends will meet in Hamblen Memory Garden at 9:45 a.m. on Tuesday morning for a 10 a.m. graveside service with Rev. Larry Brooks officiating. Military honors will be provided by VFW Post 5266. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6 to 8p.m. prior to the services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Farm Bureau Ag in the Classroom or the Hamblen County 4-H.
