Ronnie L. Long, age 71, of Morristown, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 30, 2021. He was a U. S. Army Veteran who served in the Vietnam War. Ronnie attended Statem Gap Baptist Church. He was a member of the DAV and the Honor Guard where he assisted on over 400 military services. He worked at Morristown-Hamblen Hospital. He was a member of a mule wagon club and a gunsmith.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Long; parents, Joe and Edna Long; granddaughter, Claudia Henson; daughter-in-law, Becky Long; and sister and brother-in-law, Jo Nell and Lowell Ferguson.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Gail Long; son, Bobby Long; stepdaughter and son-in-law, Karen and Joe Slagle; grandson, Cody Henson; nieces, Terri Ferguson and Tina Martin; special friends, Alton and Tami Cureton, Larry Ratliff, Ronnie Bruce, Ken Estes, Wade Lane, Aaron and Maralea Manis, Chris McGinnis and the employees of the Trade Center and members of the Witt Community; and his beloved Chihuahua, Bailey.
The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Stubblefield Funeral Home on Friday, June 4, 2021 from 12:30-3:30 p.m. Graveside services will follow in Hamblen Memory Gardens. Military honors will be provided by VFW Post #5266.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital or Morristown Hamblen Humane Society.
