Robert Lee "Bobby" Jones, 70, of Mohawk, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, April 19, 2013 while at his home with all of his family around him. He was a lifelong Tennessee Vols and Atlanta Braves fan. He was Deacon for many years at Philippi Baptist Church and Sunrise Missionary Baptist Church. He loved having his family with him at home on Sunday afternoons for lunch and enjoyed everyone being together. He was retired from Lea Industries in Morristown. He was preceded in death by his father, Oscar "Buddy" Jones; mother, Ruth Jones Cupp; stepfather, Dewey Cupp; and special cousins, Jack Cupp and Guy Cupp.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Emma Jones; daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Kenneth Hopson of Mohawk; son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Jennifer Jones of Morristown; grandson and granddaughter-in-law, William and Brittany Hopson of Morristown; grandson, Andrew Hopson of Mohawk; granddaughters, Madison and Madeline Jones of Morristown; great-grandson, Skyler Hopson of Morristown; step-sister, Jean Greer of Kingsport; half-brother, Scotty Jones of Johnson City; brothers and sisters-in-law, Clifford and Brenda Hawkins, Helen Cupp, David and Barbara Linkous, Evelyn Haney, Peggy Hawkins, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Stubblefield Funeral Home on Sunday, April 21, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. Rev. Arnold Webb and Rev. Sammy Stockman will officiate. Interment will follow in Hamblen Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Saturday evening at the funeral home from 6 – 8:00 p.m.
