He was of the Baptist faith and was saved at an early age. He was a member of Bean Station First Baptist Church, an avid Nascar fan, a hard worker but most of all a loving father, brother and friend.
Preceding him in death were his parents: Joe and Maggie Bishop; brother: Robert "Bob" Bishop; niece: Susan Moles and great granddaughter: Ayriel Hatley.
Mike is survived by his daughter and son-in-law: Pepper and Paul Hatley; grandchildren: Michael and Mackenzie Locke and Shanna and Tres Hatley. Great grandson: Jayce Hatley. Brothers: Bill Bishop and Mark Bishop; sisters and brothers-in-law: Shirley and Jason Couch, Kathy Norrod, Jane and Bobby Brooks, and June and Mike Miller. Several nieces and nephews. Also his best friend and favorite dog: Wheeler.
Mike's family would like to say a special thank you to the staff of Morristown Hamblen Healthcare CCU Doctors: Dr. Edwards, Dr. York, Dr. Frisbee and Dr. Robinson and nurses: Belle, Anthony, Sara, Austyne, Jessica and Ashley.
Mike's family will have a private celebration of life service at a later date.
