After a ten year battle with dementia, Joann Brown went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 15, 2024 surrounded by her family.
She was born on May 14, 1941 in Greeneville, TN to Durffy and Mattie Stanton. She married the love her life on Dec. 8, 1961.
Joann was preceded in death by her parents: and brother Kerney Stanton.
She will be deeply missed by her husband of 62 years, Paul Brown. Children, Michael (Sherri) Brown, Angela (Billy) Marshall, and Michelle (Ernie) Rice. Granddaughter, Mikala Brown. Brother, J.R. (Linda) Stanton, and sisters: Adeline (Bobby) Ball and Bernice Jozsa.
Visitation for Joann will be held at Stubblefield Funeral Home in Morristown, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Friday, April 19, 2024, services will follow at 7:00 PM. Family and friends will meet at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Hamblen Memory Gardens for graveside services.
Joann was a homemaker where she took excellent care of her family. She always put her family before herself, they could depend on her to be there when they needed her. Friends who visited would remark on how spotless her home was. Joann was a perfectionist in all things. She believed if it was worth doing, do it well. She was an avid reader and loved reading her bible. Joann was a skilled seamstress, she had an eye for quality, attention to detail and made her own clothes.
Best of all, Joann had a relationship with Jesus. She strived daily to please and honor him. She loved everyone and always had a smile. She loved to have fun and laugh. She was voted class clown in school.
Her cooking was loved by anyone who was lucky enough to try it. She always had a long list of food requests for every homecoming or family reunion she attended. She loved gardening and canning her own home grown vegetables.
She will always hold a special place in our hearts. Thank you for always loving us and guiding us in the right direction.
