Hugh Garner Atkins, age 76, of Morristown, passed away on Thursday, August 23, 2018. He was a member of Rock Haven Baptist Church. Preceding him in death was his wife, Imogene Atkins; parents, Chester and Ina Belle Coffey Atkins; and sisters, Joyce Atkins and Jean Cannon.
Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Gina and Gary Lawson, Lindy and Michael Cobble; brothers, Frank, Buddy John, Steve, and Bill Atkins; sisters, Carolyn Snyder, Sarah Metcalf, and Sue Lowery; brother-in-law, Donnie (Joann) Lawson; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 25, 2018 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Stubblefield Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Josh Couch officiating. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. to go to Hamblen Memory Gardens for an entombment service at 3:00 p.m.
