Dorothy Hopson Hurley, age 57, of Bulls Gap, passed away at Hawkins County Memorial on Sunday, January 1, 2017. She was preceded in death by her mother, Vergatha Wallen. Survivors include her husband, Willis Hurley; daughters, Kelly (Daniel Carroll) Harris and Elizabeth Carpenter; brothers, Ralph Hopson and James (Miranda) Hopson; father, James Ernest Hopson; grandchildren, Landon and Kiersten Harris, Stella and Lucas Carroll, Thomas Lawson, Taylor May and Trinity Ann Whitehead; nieces and nephews, Tiffany Bowlin, Travis Ramsey, Marissa Johnson, Leah and Eastyn Hopson, and Jeremy, Cassie and Caitlin Carpenter; and special friends, Irene Lawson, Eddie “Danny” Carpenter, and Tammy Hurley Whitehead. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 1 – 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Stubblefield Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Preacher Tony Albright officiating. Interment will be in Meadow Branch Cemetery following the services. Services are under the direction of Stubblefield Funeral Home.
