Benjamin Elbert Rose of Rogersville, Tennessee passed away at home on April 7, 2025. Ben was born in Clintwood, Virginia on October 29, 1932. As a young adult, Ben proudly served in the United States Navy.
After serving his country, Ben later went to work for Roadway Express, retiring with over 30 years on the road. During retirement, Ben enjoyed camping, fishing and watching westerns and nascar.
Ben was preceded in death by his wife, Freda Rose, his parents James and Fallie Rose, and several brothers and sisters. He is survived by his children Howard (Elaine) Rose, Zina (Ricky) Buell and Patricia Compton, his grandchildren Kelly (Matt) Petree, Jessy (Charles) Anderson, and Crystal Barnett, step granddaughter Jamie (Augustus) Key, and great grandchildren Liam, Lakyn, Gus and Sloane.
The family would like to thank long-time friends and neighbors Kathy Hughes and Cody Brooks for helping care for Ben in recent years.
Visitation will be held at Stubblefield Funeral Home in Morristown, Tennessee on Thursday, April 10, 2025 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm with a service to follow.
Graveside services will be Friday, April 11, 2025 at 11:00 am at Riverview Baptist Church in Bean Station,
Tennessee.
