Wow, how do you put 60 years of memories in a few short lines? Al was my brother-in-law, and even after I was no longer married to his brother, he still called me sister.  Meant so much. My oldest daughter was his first niece and she had trouble saying Alvin so she called him "The Wal". I always picture him leaning against the buffet in Nannies (his mom) kitchen with his arms folded across his chest and that quirky smile of his hinting at the corners of his mouth. You just knew there was either a joke or a funny incident coming.  His priorities were always his family whom he was so proud of. 
He was always the calming influence, the ray of sunshine on a cloudy day. He will be missed.

My prayers and condolences to Al’s family. Al will be miss so much!  I met Al while working for the CYA and quickly became friends because of all the same hobbies we enjoyed (golf, fishing and our monthly poker nights).  I will always fondly remember his sense of humor.  One night, we drove to a friend’s place in a sketchy neighborhood. We got out of the car and the first thing Al said to him was “when does the drive-by shootings start, I want to be gone before it begins “.  If you know Al , then you know he loves to fish.  One day he approached me and said, “hey, I have a good deal on a fishing boat. Lets go in halves and buy it”.  Needless to say, after that day...fish on!  God bless!

I spent a summer at Alvins (my cousin) family home in Coalinga, CA . During my stay Alvin made sure I was entertained. We watched 
"The Three Stooges" daily, his laugh was so infectious. He loved them.  He made sure we went  to the city pool daily, along with many other activities.
 We spent my time there together having such fun.

Al and I worked at NRCC for at least 20 years together. He was a mentor of many young men & women at NRCC.  I spent a lot of time picking his brain on Union issues. I’m glad I was able to call him a friend. Al god bless you and Rest In Peace.

One of us kids, can't remember who, saw Uncle Al's name written somewhere and asked who was Uncle A 1.  After that I often called him A 1. He was my #1. Have too many memories to share them all. He and my mom (his sister) were best of friends. Until Uncle Al and Aunt Janet moved to Tennessee we saw them nearly every weekend. We had many game nights eating blackies and playing games at our dining table. Uncle Al has gone on ahead of me but I will always cherish my memories of him. I know he is having the time of his life. 
Aunt Janet, Tami, Nicol and your families I'm so sorry. I wish I could be there to hug and hold you tight.

Al was always such a warm person; full of laughter and love. I knew Al due to hun coming to my other job, Ultra Tan. He only came by a few times, but he always had a bright smile on his face. I will miss him.

I am so sorry for your loss!  Al was always so kind.  I knew Al from his visits to Porter’s Tire where I work.  He always brought his work van in for service.  Nearly every time Al was in the store he talked about his family that he was so proud of.  He was especially proud of his granddaughter that sings in the choir at East High.  Al will be greatly missed and my heart is so saddened.  Praying for strength for your family!
