Thomas Allen Cavanaugh

Tom was born September 17, 1957, in Malden, Massachusetts. He is a son of the late John (Jack) and Josephine Cavanaugh. He served in the US Coast Guard. Tom was an avid do-it-yourselfer, always on a quest for that next project that needed fixing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, John (Jack) Cavanaugh Jr., and a sister, Gail Cavanaugh.

Surviving is his wife, Alicia Diane Cavanaugh of Morganton. Also surviving are his stepchildren, Ellen Gerena and her husband, Nicholas of Tennessee; John Prasinos and his wife, Erika of Tennessee; and Scott Prasinos of Tennessee; a brother, Robert Cavanaugh and his wife, Karen of Morganton; his grandchildren, Brannon Link and John Paul Link; Kostas Prasinos, Tori Prasinos; Alex Prasinos, and Nicholas Prasinos, all from Tennessee.

Nieces, Kerry Guzzetta of Londonderry, NH and Kristen Mahoney of Hickory. Nephews, Robert (Bobby) Cavanaugh II and his wife, Nisha of Conover, Ryan Cavanaugh and his wife, Lorin of Granite Falls, and a number of grandnieces and grandnephews.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Kirksey Funeral Home of Morganton has the honor of serving the family.
