Dr. Suh is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Young Soo Suh, his daughter Dr. Elsa Suh (Tampa, FL), and two sons, Dr. Jay Suh (Bristol, TN) and Dr. Charles Suh (College Station, TX). He was the ultimate patriarch for his loving family until his passing.
Dr. Suh was born in S. Korea on December 12, 1931. He moved to Morganton, NC, with his family in 1970, where he served as the Surgeon-in-Chief and Medical Director at Broughton Hospital until his retirement in 2002. He was devoted to his profession and truly loved his job as a doctor. He was a member of Mimosa Hills Country Club and always enjoyed playing golf with his friends, family, and colleagues. Even long after he was unable to play golf, he often woke up with a smile because he had a dream of playing golf.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Thursday, December 28, 2023 with a memorial service to follow for Dr. Suh's at 12:00 PM at Kirksey Funeral Home (406 Lenoir Rd., Morganton, NC). A time of refreshments and fellowship will follow at Kirksey's on-site life celebration center.
