He was born April 9, 1948, to the late June Pearson and Lucille Booker Tate in Burke Co.
Robert was a lifelong member of Green Street Presbyterian Church. He retired from Great Lake Carbon Plant after 40 years of service, also he was a worker of the community.
Robert was a proud fraternal member of the Queen of The West Masonic Lodge # 70 PHA, Asheville Consistory # 253 PHA, and Gizeh Temple # 162 PHA where he served in numerous offices.
In addition to his parents, Robert is preceded in death by 2 brothers, and 2 sisters.
Those left to cherish his memories include his wife, Mary Butler Pearson of the home, sons; Travis Tucker of Norfolk, VA, Robert Pearson, Keith Avery, and Antwon Butler all of Morganton, daughters; Adrian Tucker of Norfolk, VA, Sherry Avery Littlejohn (Shawn) of Rutherfordton, and Brandi Frazier (Daniel) of Concord, 20 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, also surviving are siblings; Terry Tate, David Tate, and Harold Chambers, aunts; Thelma Booker Tate (Charlie) and Dorothy Booker along with a very special friend Theodore “Pluto” Tate, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Big Rob will truly be missed.
Funeral services for Robert Booker Pearson will be held 2 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Morganton Tuesday, March 8, at the church. The family will receive friend 45 minutes prior to the service time at the church. Burial will follow at Burke Memorial Park. Rev. Eddie Johnson, Jr., officiating.
The Pearson family has entrusted Kirksey Funeral Home of Morganton with arrangements.
