Richard Edward Neil

Rich was the "smartest" man in the world that could do anything and everything, at least in his own mind. He was a master of being a "Karen", but always because he wanted the best for his beloved wife, JoAnn Neil, a son, Bret Neil; a granddaughter, Celeste Neil; and two brothers, Larry and Ronnie Neil.

Rich was born to the late Rolland Richard Neil and Mildred Smothers on December 23, 1942 in Rochester, Michigan. Born a brilliantly stubborn man from the start who would go on to not only protect and serve our country in the sky and on the sea, but would also go on to college to satisfy his hunger for knowledge. Rich is dearly loved by all he left behind, including his loyal companion to the end, Charlie. I'm sure if we could hear him, he'd tell us he's not dead and only resting since he was the self declared authority on everything.

Rich is to be cremated by Kirksey Funeral Home. Though his mind was inevitable gone, he will never be forgotten.

Private services will be held at a later date.

Kirksey Funeral Home of Morganton has the honor of serving the family.
