Mary Shook Brown

She was born to the late Jeffery and Beulah Shook on December 26, 1942 in Banner Elk, North Carolina.

Mary enjoyed reading her Bible, doing crossword puzzles, drawing, and eating fish. Mary loved spending time with her family. Lastly, she worked many years on the furniture line at Drexel Heritage, and was a member of Poarch Chapel Missionary Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years Paul Luther Brown, siblings Margaret Adams, Ruth Townsend, Evelyn Shook Johnson, and Dave Shook.

Those left to cherish her memories include her children; Rebecca McNeace (Tom) of Williamston, SC., Richard Brown (Mary), and Sherry Trumble both of Morganton, grandchildren Chelsea Roberts (Micah), Chris Jones (Casey), Dustin Brown, Cody Brown, Ashley Trumble, and Jessie Trumble, great grandchildren, Olivia Roberts, Lyla Blake Roberts, and Sklyar Jones. Also surviving is one sister Betty Norwood.

Funeral Services for Mary Shook Brown will be held 1pm Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at Poarch Chapel Missionary Methodist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at Burke Memorial Park. Pastors Wallace Smith and Debbie Barker, Officiating.
