She was born September 02, 1965 to the late Fred Avery and Aline Powell Avery in Baltimore Md.
Mary attended New Hope in Christ Church. She worked many years as a cashier. She loved grilling and cooking and severing food to everyone. Mary enjoyed having fun and telling you like it is. She also enjoyed playing sweepstakes, people that knew Mary knew she was the life of the party.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her sister Marlene Avery, aunts Omer Jean Avery, and Marie Davis.
Those left to cherish her memories include her two sons; William Shane Avery, and Terrell Avery, grandsons, Bryson, Karter, Jaxxon and Terrell "TJ" Avery sisters; Jenny Avery, Lisa Avery, Dalphine Nichols, Petina Levine (Calvin), Rhonda Jett, and Tracy Wallace, brothers; Teyon Avery, Robert Pearson/Shabazz Avery, and Kevin Scott, aunts; Victoria Avery, Vera Gadson, and Willa Fleming, niece; Latisha Avery, and nephew; Dajuan Avery (Candie), also surviving special friend Dennis "Flea" Moore, and longtime friend Hope Busby, along with other relatives and friends.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Carolina Caring Hospice of Catawba Co., cousins Barbara Cole (Maurice) of Germantown, MD and Lola Fleming Brown (Jimmy).
A receiving of family and friends for Mary will be held Saturday, February 12, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 1:55 PM at Kirksey Funeral Home, 406 Lenoir Rd., Morganton, NC 28655. A funeral service will occur Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 2:00 PM. An interment will occur Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Forest Hill Cemetery.
