Lillian Elizabeth Corpening Price

Mrs. Lillian Elizabeth Corpening Happoldt Price, 87, of Morganton, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, 2:40 AM on Tuesday, August 21, 2012, while at the burke Long Term Care Facility. Born January 15, 1925 in Burke County, she was a daughter of the late Daniel Corpening and Ethel McGimpsey Corpening. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Price was also preceded in death by her daughter, Emmajean Elizabeth Happoldt Tapp, two brothers, Wilbert and Daniel Corpening, Jr., a sister, Maybelle Bryant and a niece, Frances Bryant. Mrs. Price was a faithful member of the Logan Memorial Baptist Church, Morganton, where she served on the Ministerial Staff. She was also a member of the NAACP. A loving mom and grandmother, Lillian will be remembered as a caring and joyous woman who loved the Lord as well as those around her.

Mrs. Price leaves behind to cherish her memory two sons, William Hoil Happoldt, Jr. and wife, Betty and Joseph Lee Price, Jr., all of Morganton;

A sister, Annie Ferney, of Delaware, MD;

Six grandchildren, William Antwan Happoldt and wife Angela, St. Thomas Tapp, Lisa Lewis and husband, Patrick, Monica Bellamy and husband, Reggie and Alisha Patterson and husband, Romey; Seven great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends will also cherish her memory.

Mrs. Prices Funeral Services and Home Going Celebration will be held 2:00 PM, Friday, August 24, 2012 in the Chapel of Kirksey Funeral Home, Morganton, with Bishop Shawn Hooper presiding. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the Services at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Burke Memorial Park. www.kirkseymorganton.com.
