Kennith Dean Viers Sr, passed away on August 23, 2023, at his home in Morganton, NC, after a sudden illness. He was born on June 13, 1954, in Buchanan County VA, to the late Fred Clayton Viers and Beulah Owens Viers.
He was a beloved and devoted husband, dedicated father, grandfather, and brother.
Kennith's life was a testament to his passion for the outdoors and his unwavering devotion to his family. He found solace and joy in the pursuits of hunting and fishing, where he could immerse himself in the beauty of nature. These passions not only shaped his experiences but also allowed him to create cherished memories with his loved ones.
Professionally, Kennith dedicated 15 years of his life to the Jewell Smokeless Coal Corp., contributing his hard work and dedication to the company's endeavors. Later, he retired from Leviton Southern Devices, leaving a legacy of commitment and professionalism.
Kennith's involvement in the Richlands Masonic Lodge in Richlands, VA, showcased his dedication to community and fellowship. Through this affiliation, he demonstrated his commitment to values that extended beyond his personal life.
Kennith's generosity, kindness, and sense of humor endeared him to everyone fortunate enough to know him. His presence brightened gatherings, and his laughter was a source of joy. His legacy of warmth and compassion will continue to resonate in the lives of those he touched.
Those left behind to cherish Kennith's memory include his wife, Deborah Viers of the home; a son, Kennith Dean Viers, Jr. of Marshville, NC; a daughter, Angela Weatherford of Garner, NC; six grandchildren, (who were the apples of his eye and his love for them knew no bounds) Bethany Weatherford, Elijah Casteen, Lydia Casteen, Joseph Viers, Samuel Viers, and Jade Casteen, two brothers, Eddie Viers of Grundy, VA and Tony Viers of Vansant, VA; and a sister, Tammy Matney of Morganton, NC. Kennith is also survived by numerous other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Kennith's Life (honoring the life of a man whose impact reached far and wide) will take place at 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at Tookland Pentecostal Church (19815 Anchorage Circle, Grundy, VA 24614) with Pastor Wade McGeorge officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, in memory of Kennith Dean Viers Sr.
As we say our goodbyes, let us remember the light Kennith brought into our lives and the love he shared. He may have left this world, but his spirit will forever live on in our hearts.
