Rev. Julius Robert Lowery

Rev. Julius Robert Lowery, age 96, of Morganton, went home to be with his Lord on Friday, July 14, 2023. Julius was born the son of the late Henry Lowery and Nancy Hoyle Lowery in Rutherford County, NC

Rev. Lowery faithfully served his Lord while establishing three churches and pastoring 6 different churches during his ministry.

Rev. Lowery was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be missed dearly.

Along with his parents, Rev. Lowery is preceded in death by three wives, Lois Wishon Lowery, Rosa Smith Lowery and Elizabeth Lowery; two daughters, Jannie & Linda Lowery; three brothers, Willie, Clyde and Roy Lowery; and three sisters, Hattie Fowler, Maggie Keeter and Nettie Kelly.

Those left behind to cherish Rev. Lowery's memory include two sons, Junior Lowery and his wife Traci and Billy Lowery and his wife Irene of Morganton; a daughter, Mary Lowery and her husband Frank Moody, Sr. of Morganton, three stepsons, Ronnie, Donnie and Henry Smith, all of Morganton; and a stepdaughter, September Stallings of Lenoir. Rev. Lowery is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A receiving of family and friends for Rev. Lowery will be held Tuesday, July 18, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Kirksey Funeral Home of Morganton. His funeral service will occur Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Faith Temple Tabernacle Church, 6158 Fox Gap St, Morganton, NC. Rev. Jackie Price and Rev. Jonathan Cable will officiate. Rev. Lowery will be laid to rest in Faith Temple Tabernacle Church's Cemetery.
