Lum loved his family and friends. He enjoyed fishing, reading and watching westerns. Lum was a hard worker and was retired from Drexel Heritage Furniture.
Along with his parents, Lum was preceded in death five sisters, Evelyn "Laura" Allman, Geneva " Flossie" Reid, Betty "U-Bett" Conley, Jewel "Julie Bell" Teague and Marilyn "Myrtle" Pearson; and four brothers, Troy "Butch" Pritchard, Esmond "Shorty" Pritchard, Earchel "Hootie" Pritchard and Paul "Moose" Pritchard.
Those left to cherish Lum's memory include three children, Grover "Pinebark" Andrew Pritchard and girlfriend, Annette Owens, Crystal "Sissy" P. Isaacs and her husband, Kenny, and Grover "Wayne" Pritchard and his fiancé, Tressa Brown; seven grandchildren, Sheena Benfield, Tiara Carswell and her husband, Kyle, Justin Benfield II and his wife, Natalie, Randy "Jr" Owens, Novalee Pritchard, Brantley Pritchard and one on the way; numerous great grandchildren; two brothers, Bobby "Squeaky" Pritchard, Roy "Rosom" Pritchard, and two sisters, Shirley "Squirrel" Fullbright and Ira " Mickie" Johnson; his life companion of over 40 years, Annie Jane Whisnant; and Annie's three children, Teresa Hall, Tommy Whisnant and his wife Angie, and Tammy Whisnant; Lum is also survived a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family will receive friends from 12 noon to 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at Kirksey Funeral Home of Morganton.
