Fannie was born to the late Francis and Minnie Tate on June 25 1942 in Morganton. She was married for 57 years to Morris Crawford, and was a member of the Green Street Presbyterian Church where she accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior. Fannie was a graduate of Olive Hill High School Class of 1961, and enjoyed cooking, dancing and getting all dressed up.
Along with her parents, Fannie is preceded in death by a brother, James Tate, and two sisters, Mary Surratt and Kathlena Tate.
Those left behind to celebrate Fannie’s life and cherish her memories include her beloved husband, Morris Crawford of the home; a daughter, Marice White and her husband Charles of Charlotte; two grandchildren, Holly and Morris Mitchell of Charlotte; two sisters, Marilyn Tate and Gloria Dula; and two brothers, Charles (Thelma) and Theodore Tate, and a special niece Darlene Shuford all of Morganton. Fannie is also survived by two great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. She will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 in the Chapel of Kirksey Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Burke Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm to 1:55 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
