Emilie “Louise” McFalls, age 96, of Morganton, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 2, 2013 while in the care of Grace Heights Health & Rehabilitation Center. Louise was born the daughter of the late Jacob Secrest and Sarah Elizabeth Wilson Secrest on July 19, 1916 in Burke County. Louise was a long-time member of Calvary Baptist Church, and she enjoyed tending to her garden. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Louise will be greatly missed.
Along with her parents, Louise is preceded in death by two spouses, Ralph Duckworth, Sr. and Taft McFalls; a daughter Martha Louise Arney; and numerous brothers and sisters.
Those left behind to cherish Louise’s memory include a son, Ralph Duckworth, Jr. and his wife, Melitta of Valdese, a daughter, Mary Ann Davis of Huntersville; and two step children, Glen McFalls of Morganton and Gail Carondoni and her husband, Jim of California. Also surviving are numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 in the chapel of Kirksey Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Thompson officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
