Christina Phyllis Moore was born on October 30, 1950 in Philadelphia, Pa to the late John Robert Moore and Thelma Elizabeth Williams Moore. Christina was one of four children. Christina departed this life on Thursday, March 28, 2019.
Christina better known as “Chris”, graduated from William Penn High School in 1968. In 1981, she returned to school and received her Associates Degree at Pierce Junior College. While attending college she worked for Bell Telephone as a TSPS operator from 1979-1991, then went on to become a Senior Clerk for the Yellow Pages from 1991-1995. In 1997, Chris moved to Morganton, N.C. where she began working at Continental Teves through Friday Staffing. Later she was hired on full-time where she retired in 2008.
On September 26, 1969, she married the late Roger L. Dennis and was blessed with two children, Sharon and Michelle. Chris and Roger divorced, but they remained friends up until his death in 2004. In 2015, she met the love of her life Jackie Ray Moore, at Denny’s Restaurant through a mutual friend. He sat down beside her, and she cuddled up under him and said she was cold from that point on, they became inseparable. In 2017, she joined their church home, St. Luke Christian Holiness Church.
Chris was known for her love of football and she was a true Eagles fan. She loved to play dominoes, attending cookouts and being around family. After meeting her fiancé, she enjoyed traveling with him to South Carolina and Texas to spend time with his family. One of the trips she really enjoyed was going to Galveston Texas Island. She loved it so much that she wanted to move there.
Chris was well loved by all and will be missed by all. She loved her fiancé (Jackie), children, grand-children and great grand-children and would do anything for them.
Christine leaves to cherish her precious memories: her children, Sharon Hill and Michelle Dennis; one sister Jeanette Jeffreys; four grandchildren; Tiera, Joshua, Krystal, and Samantha; Seven great-grandchildren; Jeffrey, Jawade, Jordan Journee, Ayven, Za’Miyra, and Jakayla; and a host nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
