Charles Russell Fleming

Charles Russell Fleming was the youngest child born to the late Forest G. Fleming, Sr. and Marjorie Springs Fleming. Russell, as he was known to his family and friends, came into the world on June 27, 1959 in Morganton, NC and transitioned to his eternal home on May 13, 2019 in Keystone, CO.

Along with his parents, Russell was also preceded in death by siblings William Henry Springs, Jr., Joe Elbert Springs, Annie Bell Springs Michaux, John Wallace "Johnny" Springs and Jefferson "Bubba" Avery.

Russell is survived by his wife , Shelley Shepard of Washington, DC, his son, Carlos Max (Catreina) of Creedmoor, NC; grandchildren, Destiny Max, Aniyah Taborn and Kayla Max, all of Creedmoor, NC; sister, Ruby Avery of Morganton, NC; and a brother, Forest G. (Terri) Fleming, II of High Point, NC. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at Slade Chapel AME Zion Church. Interment will follow at Olive Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
