Carolyn Greenlee Harbison

The Lord made his return for our dear one, Carolyn Greenlee Bristol Harbison, 72, of 1460 Avery Rd. Morganton, NC. She answered the call of the Lord on Sunday, April 30, 2017 at Grace Hospital in Morganton, NC.

Carolyn was born on July 30, 1944 to the late Luther and Lillie Avery Bristol. She graduated with the “Class of 1962” from Olive Hill High School in Morganton. Carolyn was employed by Henredon Furniture where she retired after many years of service.

Carolyn was a longtime member of Willow Tree A.M.E. Church where she was a former Sunday School Superintendent, a former VBS teacher, a former member of the Young Adult Choir and former member of Stewardess Bd. #2.

Along with her parents, Carolyn is preceded in death by her son, Gerald Bristol; three brothers, Winton Avery, Stanley Bristol and Jimmy Bristol, a sister, Teresa Bristol and a brother-in-law Isaac Harbison.

Those left behind to cherish her memories of love include her loving husband, Ervin Harbison of the home; a son, Wayne Harbison of Lenoir; two daughters, Barbara Harbison and Sylvia Emmons, both of Morganton; stepchildren, Timothy Avery (Dee Dee) and Tarell Avery of Hickory; twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren; a sister, Sara (Shuff) Hunter of Morganton; her four sister-in-law, Sylvia Bristol of Cincinnati, OH, Martha Avery, Shirley Harbison, and Willie Avery, all of Morganton, a brother-in-law, Sylvester Harbison of Morganton; and her aunt, Bertha Avery of Morganton. Also surviving are a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
