Brenda Carol Callahan

Brenda was born on September 9th, 1957 to Jesse and Majorean Nelms in Camp Lejeune. She went on to study at North Carolina Wesleyan University, receiving her Bachelors in Justice and Public Policy.

In 2003, she and the love of her life, David, wed and moved to western North Carolina.

Her children were Brenda’s greatest accomplishment and pride. She unselfishly sacrificed and dedicated herself for her children; providing support and encouragement in every facet of their lives.

Brenda applied the same passion and dedication used with her family to her professional life. She worked tirelessly, assisting those trying to overcome addiction and adversity; working as a Mental Health Therapist and Probation Officer. Her work was her passion, and each day that passed, she always had a positive influence on someone’s life.

Brenda was predeceased by her husband David Callahan. She is survived by her daughters Billie Miller, Patricia Green, and Andy Callahan, and by her son, Christopher Green.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Cats’ Cradle in Morganton, North Carolina. A memorial service will be held on January 5th, 2023 at 11:00 am at Temple Beth Shalom in Hickory, North Carolina.
